(Notification) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) - 2017

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore conducts a national level special fellowship programme that is known as Kishore Viagyanik Protsahan Yojna (KVPY). This programme was started by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. After qualifying this test, generous fellowship and contingency grant will provide to the selected candidates to the pre Ph.D. level or 5 years whichever is earlier. Here, we have updated the complete information about How to Fill KVPY Application Form 2017.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should be Indian Citizen.
  • For Stream SA, Candidates have to complete their 10th class with Science & Mathematics subjects. They have to secure at least 80% marks (70% marks for SC/ST/PwD) aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • For Stream SX, Candidates have to pass 10th class with minimum 80% marks (70% for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Mathematics & Science subjects. Candidates also have to qualify the 10+2 examination with Science subjects & secure at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD category) in aggregate.
  • For Stream SB, Candidates have to complete their 10+2 examination & obtain minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Science Subjects. Candidates also have to pass their 1st year final examination & secure at least 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD).

Selection Procedure:

1.Aptitude Test: After scrutiny of application forms and meeting the eligibility criteria for various streams, all eligible students will be called for aptitude test conducted both in Hindi and English at different centers across the country on Sunday, the 6th November 2016. The details of the venue of the aptitude test for the eligible students and their seat number will be published in the KVPY website during the second week of October 2016.

Admit Card
Students may download the admit card for the aptitude test from the website from the second week of October 2016.

2. Interview: Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students will be asked to appear for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure.
