CBSE Class-12 Question Papers for IOP/Comptt Examination 2017 : Heritage Crafts

General Instructions :

(i) This question paper consists of three section – A, B and C.
(ii) All sections are compulsory.
(iii) Separate instructions are given with each section and question wherever necessary. Read these instructions carefully and follow them.
(iv) Do not exceed the prescribed word limit while answering the questions.
(v) Section A is theory based on the textbook. There are 17 questions in this section, out of which 13 have to be answered as per the instructions given. Section A has weightage of 40 marks.
(vi) Questions number 1-6 are of 1 marks each, students will have to attempt any five questions.
(vii) Questions number 7-11 are of 3 marks each, students will have to attempt any four questions.
(viii) Questions number 12-15 are of 5 marks each, students will have to attempt any three questions.
(ix) Questions number 16 and 17 are of 8 marks each, students will have to attempt any one questions.
(x) Section B is based on field work. Students will have to attempt 2 questions in this section. Section B has a weightage of 20 marks.
(xi) Questions number 18-20 are of 10 marks each, students will have to attempt any two questions.
(xii) Section C is based on application and innovation in design and processes.
(xiii) Questions number 21 and 22 are of 10 marks each, students will have to attempt any one question.

Section – A

Note : Answer any five questions in not more than 5 sentences each.

1. What is meaning of Swadeshi according to Gandhiji ?
2. Why was “All India Cottage Industry Board” set up ?
3. State four reasons for the pitiable condition of the craft persons in India.
4. Name any two banned craft items in India.
5. Give three suggestions to improve the pitiable condition of craft persons.
6. Name any three Indian names given to “Handicrafts”.

Note : Answer any four of the following questions in 80-100 words each.

7. How can craft and tourism be promoted together ?

8. How did the initiatives of Mrs. Kamla Devi Chattopadhyay help in promoting crafts after India’s independence ?

9. How was the craft industry in India affected during the colonial period ?

10. What are the different functionaries that work for the promotion of handicrafts industry in India at National, State or Local level ?

Note : Answer any three of the following questions in 100-120 words each.

12. With the use of factory made products we have lost some aspects of our cultural identity or the identity of a particular community. Discuss.

13. Discuss by giving examples, how the adaptation of craft to new surfaces has led to creativity of a new kind.
