Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh State Level Engineering, Agricultural & Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted by one of the state University for admission to BE/ BArch/ BTech (Agri/ Engg/Dairy Tech) courses in all engineering and medical colleges (including private as well as minority institutions) in Andhra Pradesh affiliated to the Universities namely Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural, Andhra Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakatiya, Nagarjuna, Osmania, Sri Krishnadevaraya, Sri Venkateswara; and Regional Engineering Colleges.

Eligibility : Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate examination (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optionals or Vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology held by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or Diploma examination in Engineering/Architecture conducted by the State Board of Technical Education & Training or equivalent. Candidates must be of Indian Nationality and admission is open to residents of the State of Andhra Pradesh. They should complete 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admissions.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Principal of the College or convenor, EAMCET or from the Head Post Offices of Andhra Pradesh. Completed applications should reach the Convener, EAMCET, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Mahaveer Marg, Masab Tank, Hyderabad 500028 or as notified by the prescribed date.

Selection : Selected is on the basis of merit in EAMCET. The test centers are at Anantapur, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal or as notified from time to time. Candidates who seek admission to 5-year BArch course are required to appear for an Aptitude test separately, after qualifying the E A M C ET. The aptitude test is conducted at JNTU, School of planning & Architecture, Hyderabad.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: The test comprises of 200 questions of 3 hour duration. Questions are of multiple choice object type in Physics (50 marks), Chemistry (50 marks) and Mathematics (100 marks). Standard of the test is that of the intermediate exam. The medium of the test will be in English and Telugu. Candidates who have studied the qualifying examination in Urdu medium are allotted a Centre at Hyderabad.

Reservation of seats: 85% of the seats are reserved in favour of the local candidates. Reservation category include SC/ST/BC, children of defence personnel, sports, NCC, GOI nominees.

Domicile Restrictions: state residents (except GOI nominees). Following categories of candidates are considered eligible.

  1. Study in state educational institutions for 4/7 consecutive academic years

  2. Resident in local area for 4/7 years immediately preceding the date of commencement of qualifying exam or candidates who have resided in the state for 10 years or candidates whose parents have resided in the state for 10 years or candidates whose parents/who are spouses of those in the employment of the state/central govt./public sector corporations/local bodies/universities within the state.

Haryana

A Common Engineering Entrance Test (CEET) for admission to 4 year B.E/B.Tech. course and 5 Year B.Arch courses at the Government and Private Engineering Colleges in Haryana is conducted by National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. passed the 10+2 examination of Senior Secondary Certificate from Haryana Board/CBSE or its equivalent with 50% marks Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and a pass in English. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible for CEET. 3 year Diploma holders from Haryana Board of Technical Education are eligible for admission to the second year of Technical Education are eligible for admission to the second year of BE/B Teach course under ‘Lateral Entry Scheme’.

Admission Procedure : CEET Brochure containing syllabi for the test and other details together with the application form can be obtained from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra-136119. Completed application should reach the institute by the notified date usually on March/ April.

Selection : Selection is on the basis of merit in CEET exam. Test Centres are Ambala, Bhiwani, Chandigarh, Delhi, Faridabad, Grunion, Hisar, Kurukshetra and Sonepat. CEET result is communicated individually to all the candidates.

Medium & Pattern of Examination: Test comprises of a composite question paper of 3 hours duration and will consist of objective type multiple choice questions in maths, physics and chemistry of 60 marks each. The medium of the exam is in English.

Reservation of Seats : Some seats are reserved for SC/ST, BC, Armed Forces personnel, Children of Freedom Fighters, Physically handicapped sports persons.

Domicile Restrictions: For payment seats candidates outside the state are also considered. However, first preference is given to candidates who have passed their qualifying exams from schools in Haryana or have a Haryana domicile

Pondicherry

Joint Entrance Test (JET) is conducted for admission to BTech course in Pondicherry Engineering College and Bharathiyar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikal

Eligibility : HSC exam (10+2) or its equivalent with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the notified branches of Canara Bank in Pondicherry on payment of requisite amount. It is also available by post by crossed demand draft in favour of the Convener, CENTAC payable at Pondicherry. Complete application should reach the Convener, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry -605014 by the notified date usually on April/May.

Selection : Selection is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and in the JET. Usually the test will be conducted in June. Both the test are given equal weightage.

Medium of examination: English

Reservation of Seats: 75%/85% of seats are reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining from other parts of India.

Domicile Restrictions: Candidates should satisfy one of the following conditions: (a) candidates whose parents are residing continuously in Pondicherry for 5 years preceding the date of application, (b) passed qualifying exam from Pondicherry, (c) children of Pondicherry government employees, (d) children of central government servants/defence personnel/employees of Public sector undertakings working in Pondicherry.

Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh Entrance Examination is conducted by the North-East Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST). The academic programmes offered in the institute are in the Engineering / Technology and Applied Science streams. The Engineering and Technology stream at NERIST consist of three modules (Certificate, Diploma and Degree) each of two years duration. In Applied science stream offers a two-year base module and four-year degree module. Each module has an entry point through an entrance examination conducted by NERIST. Each module also provides terminality corresponding to an occupational level, and at the same time allows entry to the next higher module, finally leading to a degree in engineering/technology. The system also allows lateral entry from outside with necessary pre-requisites, at the Diploma and Degree levels.

Eligibility : Certificate (Engg/Tech and Applied Sciences) (NEE-I) - 10th
Diploma (Engineering/Technology) (NEE-II)- NERIST certificate holder or 10+2 exam (Phy, Chem, Maths or vocational subjects)
Degree (Engineering/Technology) BTech (NEE-III)- NERIST Diploma holders or 3-yr Diploma holders from a polytechnic with 60% marks.

Admission Procedure & Selection : Application forms and prospectus can be obtained from the institute. The selection of students is done on the basis of results of NERIST entrance examination. NEE-I and NEE-II entrance exams are held in June and NEE-III is held in November. The Examination Centres are Agartala, Aizwal, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Jorhat, Kohima, Shillong and Silchar. However, candidates opting for Itanagar center may be allotted center in NERIST at Nirjuli or in any school at Naharlagun or Itanagar, at the discretion of the Institute.

Pattern of Examination : NEE-III consisting of one paper of three hours duration will be conducted at various centers located in the seven states of North East.

Reservation of seats: 70% of the seats in the base module are reserved for the candidates of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura as States quota. i.e 10% to each NE state. The remaining 30% of seats are filled up on merit basis through an open competition for whole of India including North East students.

Himachal Pradesh

National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, conduct the Combined Pre-Entrance Test (CPET) for admission to 4 year BTech courses.

Eligibility : Pass in 10+2 examination of HP Board of School Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English for General Seats; for Payment/NRI seats, candidate must have obtained 60% marks in the qualifying exam.

Admission Procedure : Application form along with brochure for CPET can be obtained from National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur-177005. Completed application with the requisite test fee should reach the institute by the notified date usually in April.

Selection : Selection is made on merit of the CEPT exam. The exam is held usually in May/June at Himachal Pradesh University Campus, Shimla 5; NIT, Hamirpur; Govt. College, Hamirpur; Government College Dharmashala and GC Mandi. Payment Seats Candidates who fulfill the minimum eligibility conditions may apply to the college directly.

Medium of examination : English

Reservation of Seats : SC- 15%, ST-7.5%, Diploma holders-2 seats and teachers of Govt Polytechnics located in HP-2 seats.

Domicile Restrictions : Domicile is determined on the basis of the location of institution from where the candidate passed the qualifying exam. General (Free Seats) (I) Candidates should have passed/appeared in the qualifying exam from the schools located in Himachal Pradesh (ii) Any State for children/wards of (a) employees of Himachal Government/ Boards/ Corporation/ Autonomous bodies (b) Bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.

Punjab

Admission to engineering courses is based on Punjab Combined Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar in the Engineering Institutions and Departments of University located in the State of Punjab.

Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 (Science stream) exam with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or its equivalent conducted by a recognised Board/ Institution. Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training with 60% marks are also eligible. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam can appear in CET. Age limit of the candidates should not be above 22 years of age July 1 of the year of admission (3 years relaxation in case of SC/St candidates)

Admission Procedure : Application form and CET Information Brochure can be obtained from the Coordinator, CET Punjab Technical University, and Jalandhar 144011 on cash payment of prescribed fees or by post from the Secretary, Publication Bureau, Punjab University, Chandigarh by sending MO or crossed IPO in favour of the Registrar, Punjab University, Chandigarh Colleges (as mentioned in the admission notification) conducted by the CET. Completed applications with entrance test fee should reach the Coordinator by the notified date in the month of March/April.

Selection : On the basis of merit in CET held in the month of May at various centres in the state and also at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kurukshetra. Punjab University will publish merit list of candidates who obtain 15% marks (10% for SC / ST / BC ) in aggregate. Admission of candidates to Architecutre course is made as per their merit position in CET secured on the basis of marks obtained by them in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and Architectural aptitude test. Candidates who qualify the test are informed individually and the list of successful candidates is notified in leading newspapers. The admission to Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and other three affiliated to the Punjab University, Chandigarh shall be based on the relative merit of candidates determined by the result of the Joint Entrance Test.

Pattern & Medium of Examination : Examination comprises of five sessions. Session I, II and III will contain objective type questions in physics, chemistry and maths and descriptive type questions containing short answer questions and numerical problems. Session IV is the test for proficiency in Punjabi language to be taken by those candidates who are Punjabis settled in other States. Session V is to test the Architectural aptitude. (only for those seeking admission to B.Arch course.) Medium of examination is English.

Reservation of seats: SC- 15%, ST-7%, BE- 5%. Seats are also reserved for handicapped, sports persons, Defense personnel, terrorist victims, rural areas, political sufferers, Freedom Fighters, NRIs etc.

Domicile Restrictions: See prospectus of each college. Allocation of seats, conditions of domicile and eligibility vary from institution to institution.

Assam

A Joint Admission Test (JAT) is conducted by the director of technical education, Assam for selection of candidates for admission to the first year of the B.E course to the two state Government colleges i.e Assam Engineering College, Guwahati; Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat and National Institute of Technology, Silchar (Assam quota). Candidates seeking admission in any National Institute of Technology (against Assam quota) have to apply separately to Principle, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, in addition to appeaing in JAT.

Eligibility : Candidates should have passed the 2-year pre-university exam of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or an exam recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English securing 50% aggregate marks in PCM in one sitting (45% for SC and 40% for ST candidates). Maximum Age for the candidates at the time of admission is 21 years. (For B.Sc degree holders the age limit is 22/24 yrs). For SC/ST candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 4 years.

Admission Procedure : Admission is open to permanent residents of Assam except Government of India/State nominees; Sons and daughters of Central Govt./Public Sector Undertakings employees posted in Assam and serving in the State for one year ( 7 seats). Application form and prospectus can be obtained from Engineering Colleges/ Polytechnics by hand or through post. Last date for submission of completed application form is in the month of April of the year of admission.

Selection : Selected is on the basis of merit in JAT conducted at 18 centers in the State. The test is usually held in the month of June. There will be a separate merit list for SC/ST candidates. Candidates for BArch course are also required to appear in Aptitude test. Change is not allowed after admission.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: The test consists of 3 papers of 3 hours duration: mathematics, physics and chemistry of 100 marks each. The medium of the test will be in English. Standard of the test is that of intermediate.

Candidates belonging to following categories are exempted from appearing in the admission test: (i) candidates nominated against reserved seats for other states, union territories & foreign countries, if otherwise eligible and (ii) candidates ranked within the first ten positions in pre-university exam. of Guwahati/Dibrugarh University of HSSLC (Sc) exam of the board of secondary education, Assam provided they get not less than 75% marks. They must apply for direct admission within 10 days of publication of their qualifying exam result to the Director, Technical Education, Assam.

Reservation of seats: SC-7%,ST (plains)-10%, ST (hills)-5%, daughters of ex-servicemen-2 seats, OBC-15%, Sports persons-2, NCC-2, Physically handicapped-2, sons & daughters of central Govt./public sector employees posted in Assam & serving for one year-7 seats, Tea garden labour community- 2 seats, Ex-tea garden labour community- 2 seats. Seats are also reserved for Govt. of India/State nominees ( Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunchal Pradesh, Mizoram).

Jammu Kashmir

Jammu Kashmir State Level Entrance Test (SLET) is conducted by the Competent Authority for Entrance Examination, for admission to 4 year DE courses

Eligibility : Pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks.

Admission Procedure : Application form along with information brochure and syllabus can be obtained from the office of the Competent Authority Entrance Examination, J&K Government, Civil Secretariat, Jammu/9-A. Poloview, Srinagar. Completed application with the requisite test fee should reach the institute by the notified date usually in the month of February.

Selection : Selection is on the basis of merit obtained in the SLET.

Reservation of Seats : Open Merit- 50%, SC-8%, ST-10% (Gujjar & Bakerwal 6% Leh Distt 2% Kargil 2%), Other ST-1%, Other Social Castes- 2%, Residents of Backward Areas- 20%, Line of Actual Control- 3%, Defence Personnel- 3%, Sports Category- 2%, Para-Military Forces/State police Personnel- 1%.

Rajasthan

A Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) is conducted by Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur for admission to BE/ BTech/ BArch Courses in various Engineering Colleges in Rajasthan.

Eligibility : Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate examination (10+2) with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or its equivalent. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible. They should have 17-23 years of age by the date of commencement of admissions.

Admission Procedure : Application form and Information booklet for RPET prospectus can be obtained from the Engineering colleges on payment of requisite amount as notified. Completed applications with the test fee should be reach the Co-ordinator, RPET, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur 302017 by the prescribed date usually on March.

Selection : Selection is based on merit in R PET conducted in the month of May. The test centers are Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jhunjhnu, Jodhpur, Kota, Sriganganagar and Udaipur. The list of qualified candidates is notified in order of merit and these candidates are called for counselling.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: PET consist of written test in physics, chemistry, maths of 3 hours duration. The question papers in all the subjects consist of multiple choice objective type questions. Medium of examination is English.

Reservation of seats: SC-48 seats, ST-24 seats, Ex-Servicemen/Defence personnel killed in action/disabled -10 seats, PH-2 seats

Domicile Restrictions: Residents of Rajasthan with certain exemptions.

Bihar

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) is conducted for admission to the first year B.Sc (Engineering)/ B.Arch/ BTech (Agri. Engg & Dairy Tech) courses at the following colleges :

Eligibility : The candidates must have passed the Inter (Sc) Exam with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or an equivalent exam. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible. They should be medically fit and the age must be 17-22 years on July 1 of the year of admission. (5 years relaxation of the upper age limit for the SC/ST candidates).

Admission Procedure : Application form and syllabus for the entrance exam can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/notified agencies in the month of January/ February. The completed applications along with exam fee should reach appropriate authority by the notified date usually in the month of March/ April.

Selection : Selection is made on merit in BCECE conducted at various centres in the State. The test is held usually in the month of May/ June. Separate merit list is prepared for general/reserved categories. List of successful candidates is notified in leading State newspapers /colleges.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: The BCECE comprises of three papers of Physics, Chemistry and Maths of 1 hour duration each. The standard of exam is that of Intermediate and the medium is in English.

Reservation of seats: SC-14%,ST-10%,BC-10%, children of armed personnel-1 seat. Two seats in each college of Sindri, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Bhagalpur are reserved for those holding a diploma in Engineering. Seats are also reserved for Central Government nominees and for candidates belonging to States/Union Territories which do not have engineering colleges.

Domicile Restrictions: Residents of Bihar. Candidates whose parents are employees to Tata Iron & Steel Company are eligible to seek admission at Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri only.

Karnataka

Karnataka State Level Common Entrance Test (CET) at state level is conducted by Government of Karnataka for admission to all professional courses in University, Regional, Private Aided and Unaided Engineering Colleges in the State affiliated to Vishveswaraiah Technological University.

Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 PUC of Karnataka Board or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English securing 50% aggregate marks in PCM group (40% marks for SC/ST). Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Principal of the College/Institute or specified branches of Canara Bank on payment of requisite amount. The form can be obtained by post from the CET Cell, SJM Samudaya Bhavan, I Main Road, Ganghinagar, Bangalore 560009. Completed application should reach the institute by notified date usually on April.

Selection : Selection is based on the merit in CET conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Bangalore in various centres, spread over Karnataka. Candidates are called in order or rank for spot allotment of branch/college according to availability and option exercised by the candidates.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: Test consists of objective type multiple choice questions in maths, physics and chemistry of 60 marks each. English is the medium of the examination.

Reservation of seats: 85% of the seats in the private aided colleges are free & 15% are payment seats. But in general 50% are free seats & 50% are payment seats. In the private unaided colleges each course has 50% free & payment seats respectively.
SC/ST, BC, sports, NCC, Defence/Ex-defence, political sufferers, diploma holders-5%

Domicile Restrictions: Seven full academic years of study in Karnataka. However, following criteria are given exemption.

  1. children of defence personnel, central government employees working for a period of atleast one year in Karnataka.

  2. children of MPs elected from Karnataka to the extent of the period of being an MP falling during the period of the child's study from first standard to the qualifying exam.

  3. children of serving or retired employees of (i) all India services of Karnataka cadre; (ii) state government who had served/are serving outside the state during the period of the child has been studying from first standard to the qualifying exam;

  4. children of central government employees working outside Karnataka State where such employee: (i) had declared any place in Karnataka as his Home Town, and (ii) has either studied in any recognised educational institution in Karnataka for not less than five years first standard and SSLC.

  5. children of serving defence personnel or ex-servicemen whose home address at the time of joining the defence services was in Karnataka.

  6. children of any employee transferable anywhere in India but at present working continuously for a period of at least one year in Karnataka.

Sikkim

Admission to 4 year BE courses in Universities/ Institutes on Sikkim is based on All India Basis Entrance Examination.

Eligibility : 10+2 with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Admission Procedure : Application forms and information brochure may be obtained from The Dean, Manipal Institute of Technology Sikkim, Regional office – P O Box 79, Manipal 576119 by sending a DD for a requisite amount in favour of Manipal institute of Technology, Sikkim payable at Gangtok. Completed application should reach the above office by the last date as notified usually in the month of April.

Selection : Selection is based on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying

Chandigarh

Admission is made on the basis of Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by Punjab University for admission to BE/ BTech/ BArch courses in its Colleges/Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology; Punjab Engineering College.

Eligibility : 10+2 (Science Stream) exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or its equivalent from a recognised Board. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from - Registrar, Punjab University, Chandigarh or Secretary, Publication Bureau, Punjab University, Chandigarh or College Office. Completed applications with test fee should reach the Assistant Registrar (CET), Punjab University by the notified date usually in the month of March/ April.

Selection :Selection is on the basis of merit in CET conducted in Phy. Chem. and Maths. The test centres are at Chandigarh, Delhi and Ludhiana. Candidates for BArch course are also required to appear in aptitude test. The merit list is notified in local newspapers/colleges. Candidates whose names are listed in the merit list are required to appear for counseling on the specified dates.

Kerala

A Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted by controller of Entrance Examination at state level for admission to (a) Medical (i) MBBS (ii) BDS (iii) BPharm (iv) BSc (Nursing) (v) BSc (MLT) (vi) BAMS (vii) BHMS and (viii) BSMS (Sidha). (b) Agriculture (i) BSc (Agriculture) (ii) BFSc (iii) BSc (Forestry) (c) Veterinary BVSc & AH (d) Engineering BTech [including BTech (Agricultural Engg. / BTech (Dairy Sc. & Tech) courses under the Kerala Agriculture University] (e) Architecture. Colleges affiliated to the Calicut, Kannur, Kerala, CUSAT and Mahatma Gandhi universities value the score of CEE.

Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 from any one of the universities in Kerala or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths put together (45% marks/ pass marks for SEBC and SC/ST candidates). Those who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply. Candidates should have completed 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission. Diploma holders securing 50% marks are also eligible for admission.

Application Forms will not be available by post or sold from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. At the time of purchase of the application form, applicants will also be supplied with an OMR Data Sheet, Prospectus and an envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Candidates should ensure that the Application number printed in the Application Form, OMR Data Sheet and on the cover are the same.

Candidates applying for the Aptitude Test in Architecture in addition to Medical/Engineering/B.Pharm entrance Examinations should submit along with their filled in application from, a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- (Rs. Three Hundred only), drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram. However, if the candidate is applying only for the Aptitude Test in Architecture no additional remittance is required.

Candidates opting DUBAI (UAE) as the Centre for Entrance Examination. Candidates, who choose ‘DUBAI’ as their centre for the Entrance Examination, should submit along with their filled in application from, a Demand Draft for Rs.7000/- (Rs. Seven Thousand only), drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of merit in CEE conducting in various centres of the state.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: Test is of objective type consisting of three papers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and is according to the syllabus of 10 + 2. Candidates who apply for admission to degree course in Architecture in the State Engineering colleges will have to appear for an aptitude test also. Medium of the examination is English.

Reservation of seats: 15% of the seats in private engineering colleges are filled up by the management of the colleges concerned. Nominees of the GOI- 67 seats, repatriates from Burma 2 seats (civil/mechanical), repatriates from Sri Lanka- 2 seats (electrical/mechanical), children of Ex-servicemen of the state- 6 seats (2 seats, each in civil/electrical/mechanical), children of dependents of serving defence personnel from the state 10 seats (3 seats in each branch in civil, electrical, mechanical and one seat in electronics& communication), sports personnel- 1 seat each in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical & electronics & communication, physically handicapped- 1 seat each in civil, electrical & mechanical.
The remaining seats will be filled up as follows: 50% on merit on a Statewise basis, 15% of seats will be allocated between the Malabar area and the Travancore-Cochin area in the ratio of 5:8. Remaining 35%, Muslims 8%, Latin Catholics 2%, backward Christians 1%, Backward Hindus 5%, SC 8%, ST 2%.

Domicile Restrictions: The candidate must be an Indian citizen & should have studied in educational institutions in Kerala, for at least 5 years within a total period of 12 years before the completion of qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent examination) or the candidate, or the candidates father/mother should have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are sons/daughters of the following categories of non-Keralite parents: employees of the government of India, or defence personnel posted in Kerala. Subject to the condition that the employees concerned has served in Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years.

Tamil Nadu

Admission to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch courses in Tamil Nadu in the Government, Government Aided and Private colleges is based on Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) conducted by Anna University, Madras.

Eligibility : A pass in HSC (10+2) (Academic/Vocational) or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/ vocational subjects securing 60% marks in each subjects and 70% marks in aggregate. Diploma holders of State Board of Mechanical Education securing 60-70% marks are also eligible. In case of SC/ST candidates a mere pass may be sufficient.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from Admission Office, Anna University or Registrar, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai-600025 or from engineering colleges/ institutions/ head post offices of Tamilnadu as notified on payment of requisite amount. Completed form should reach the secretary, TNPCEE, Anna University by the notified date.

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying exam/TNPCEE. TNPCEE is conducted in Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry) and Maths at various centres in the State. Candidates applying for admission to B Arch course are also required to appear for an aptitude test.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: Test consists of Three papers-(1) Biology, (2)Physical sciences (physics, chemistry and GK) and (3)Mathematics. For B.Arch in addition to the above test candidate have to sit for an aptitude test. Medium of examination is English.

Reservation of seats: SC/ST-18%, BC-5%, PH-3%, 50 seats in B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch and 5 seats in B.Tech. (Industrial Bio-Tech) are reserved for candidates outside Tamil Nadu. 2 seats for children of ex-servicemen of the State, 1 seat for children/ward of staff of the State.

Domicile Restrictions: Residents of the state. However, there are some exceptions: (a) children of central government employees, whose parents or guardians are serving in the state. (b) Children of persons employed in Private or Public or Government, recognised institutions in the State.

Delhi

A combined entrance Examination (CEE) is held by the Delhi University every year generally in the month of June for admission to first semester of BE courses in Delhi college of engineering and Delhi Institute of Technology. Candidates applying under Defence quota/Nominated candidates are exempted from CEE.

Eligibility : The candidates should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year Course) conducted by CBSE or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the University of Delhi with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST category and 55% forwards of Defence Personnel) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible. Applicants should be 17 years of age on or before 1st October of the year of admission.

The result will be published in leading newspapers/displayed on notice board in colleges/university. Candidates who stand in merit on the basis of CEE result are also required to apply separately for admission in the prescribed application form which can be obtained from the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology/Delhi College of Engineering.

Pattern & Medium of Examination : Test comprise of 3 papers (240 marks each) of 3 hour duration, containing objective type questions (60 each) in physics, chemistry and mathematics. The medium of the test will be in English.

Reservation of seats : SC-15%,ST-7.5%,From out of the Delhi quota following seats are reserved:5% of the total seats for candidates within Delhi, in each course for children/widows of personnel of armed/para military forces killed/disabled in action during hostilities, 1 seat over & above the normal intake in both the colleges taken together for wards/children of India based staff posted at Indian missions abroad, 6 seats in Delhi college of engineering & 3 seats in Delhi Institute of Technology over & above normal intake for candidates from friendly & developing countries.

Madhya Pradesh

Admission to B.E/B.Arch./BTech degree courses is based on the State level Pre-Engineering Test (PET) conducted every year by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board Bhopal in Government Engineering Colleges; Private Engineering Colleges; Autonomous Institutions and MP quota seats in National Institute of Technology.

Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 scheme of MP Board of Secondary Education or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English securing 55% marks in aggregate. Compartmental candidates are not considered. Candidates who have appeared in the final year exam are also eligible. Age limit must be not more than 21 years on October 1 of the year of admission.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Office of Professional Examination Board or any of the State Engineering College. Last date of submission of completed forms is in the month of January/February.

Selection : Selection is done on the basis of merit in the PET. The test is conducted usually in the month April/ May at 23 cities in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and Nagpur. Merit list is prepare by the Board course wise, which is then notifies in the leading newspapers/ colleges. Successful candidates are also informed individually.

Pattern and Medium of Examination: Test consists of objective type multiple choice questions in maths, physics and chemistry (300 marks each). Syllabus for the PET is same as that of Higher Secondary Exam. Medium of the exam is English. Candidates appearing for B.Arch course would have to appear for an Aptitude test.

Reservation of seats: SC-15%,ST-21%, military personnel-5%, GOI nominees-3%, children/grand children of freedom fighters-3%

Domicile Restrictions: Citizens of India, educated in educational institutions in MP for at least three consecutive years during the 5 years immediately preceding the year in which admission is sought or bonafide residence of MP or son or daughter of an employee or pensioner of the Government of MP/All India service on MP cadre or central government/public sector undertakings employees posted in MP for at least six months prior to the submission of application or a person settled in MP under resettlement scheme. However, those restrictions do not pertain to the payment seats of the private sector colleges.

Tripura

A Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted for admission to BE courses at Tripura Engineering Colleges and National Institute of Technology, Silchar (for Tripura seats).

Eligibility : Higher Secondary (10+2) exam of Tripura Board of Secondary Education/CBSE with 5 subjects or equivalent securing 50% (45% for SC and 40% for ST) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible. There is no age restriction.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained in person/by post from the Chairman, Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination, Tripura Engineering College Campus, Jirania Tripura-799055 on payment of requisite amount through IPO/bank draft in favour of the Board: candidates should enclose a self addressed stamped envelope of 27 x 12 cm size, if the form is required by post. Completed application with exam fee through IPO/bank draft alongwith a self-addressed stamped envelope of 30 x 13 cms size should reach the Board office by the notified date in the month of February

Selection : Selection is on the basis of merit in the Joint Entrance Exam, conducted usually in the month of April. The Board notifies the results through newspapers.

Pattern & medium of Examination: Test is conducted in English, Physics, Mathematics and chemistry carrying 100 marks each. Each paper is of 3 hours duration, standard of questions is of Higher Secondary Course. The medium of the test is English/Bengali.

Reservation of seats: SC-15%, ST-29%, GOI nominees-10 seats, North Eastern Hill States-22 seats.

Domicile Restrictions: Permanent residents of Tripura. Exemptions are given to the children of officers of GOI posted in Tripura or All India service officers borne in Manipur/Tripura cadre.

Goa

Centralised Admission Process has been framed for admission to BE/B.Arch courses in the following colleges in Goa

Eligibility : Candidates should have passed the HSC (Std XII) exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim or its equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing 60% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) in the subject of Phy, Chem and Maths taken together at one and the same sitting.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/ directorate of Technical Education, Alto-Porvorim, Bardez-Goa 403521. Completed application should reach the Directorate by the notified date usually in the month of May/ June

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of total marks obtained in qualifying examination. Weightage is allowed to candidates who have participated in sports and NCC. Candidates applying for B Arch courses are also required to appear in the aptitude test. Their merit is determined on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying exam and aptitude test.

Medium of examination : English

Reservation of seats : SC- 2%, ST-5% OBC-15% Children of Freedom Fighters-1 seat, Physically Handicapped candidates- 3%, Children of Central & Defence Personnel/Para-Military Forces/State Government and Public/Private Sector Employees-6%, Children of Ex-servicemen-1seat, NRIs-5%.

Domicile Restrictions : Residents of Goa with certain exemptions ; Children of employees of Central Governments/Public Sector Undertakings serving in the State for two years, or employees of Goa State Government/Undertakings or persons residing in the State of Goa for the purpose of occupation/employment for a period of 5 years, provided the candidate has passed the qualifying exam from schools/colleges in the State of Goa.

Maharashtra

Admission to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch courses is regulated according to the State Level Centralised Admission Process (SLCAP) in Government, Government-aided and private Engineering colleges in Maharashtra.

Eligibility : HSC (10+2) exam of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune or its equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at one and the same sitting (45% for BC candidates). First class diploma holders from the State Board of Technical Education are admired to II year of the course in certain institutions. Candidates who have taken Biology as 4th optional subject at the qualifying exam are eligible for admission to Biomedical Engineering course.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the notified engineering colleges in the State on payment of requisite amount (Notification: May/June). The Candidates is required to submit the completed applications to the concerned admission authorities in the State as mentioned in the Information Brochure.

Selection : Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Candidates applying for B Arch course are required to appear in the aptitude test. Merit list is displayed at the centers, where the candidates have submitted the completed application. Candidates listed in the merit list are required to attend the counseling session as per schedule given in the brochure.

Medium of Examination : English

Reservation of seats: SC and Nav Budhas-13%, ST-7%, nomadic tribes-8%, OBC-19%, Vimukta Jati-3%, Special Backward Class-2%.

Domicile Restrictions: Candidates must have passed SSC/10+2 exam from an institution in Maharashtra State. However exceptions are considered for:

  1. Govt. of India nominees

  2. Sons/daughters of persons domiciled in Maharashtra even if they have passed the qualifying examination from outside the state

  3. sons/daughters of central govt./undertaking employees transferred to Maharashtra in case they have passed the qualifying exam from the state

  4. children or wards of Maharashtra state govt./undertaking employees who are on transfer/transferred from outside the state

  5. wards of defence personnel

  6. children of NRIs from Maharashtra

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Admission Test (UPSEAT) is conducted by Institute of Engineering & Technology for admission to B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch courses offered at the Government/ University/ Private Engineering and Technological Institutions of Uttar Pradesh and the National Institute of Technology (UP quota) .

Eligibility : Intermediate (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics of UP Board or its equivalent. For admission in National Institute of Technology, candidates should have secured 50% aggregate marks in PCM and should have a pass in English. Candidates whose results are awaited may also apply. Those who have passed or appearing in 3/4 year Diploma Course or equivalent examination may apply for entrance test for direct admission in 2nd year of the Engineering course. The maximum age limit is 22 years on October 1 of the year of admission. (relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST and UP backward class candidates)

Admission Procedure : Application form with information brochure are available from first week of January from the State funded Engineering Colleges and also from the notified branches of Vijaya Banck on payment of requisite amount. It can be obtained by post from the Coordinator, Admission Committee (Institute conducting the CEE) against Postal Order / Bank Draft of requisite amount in favour of Coordinator, Admission Committee. Last date for submission of completed CET form along with the requisite fees is in the month of February/ March.

Selection : Selection is based on merit in UPSEAT conducted at 20 centers at UP and Bangalore, Bhopal, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ranchi. The test is held usually in the month of May/ June. Candidates for BArch course are required to appear in aptitude test in Architecture.

Pattern Of Examination: (i) B.E, B.Tech (chem.Tech.) (4 years), B.Arch.(5 years); physics, chemistry and maths.
(ii) B.Tech. (Agr. Engg) (4 years): physics, chemistry and maths
(iii) B.Arch. (5 years) at GCA, Lucknow; maths, physics, chemistry and aptitude test in architecture.
There are two type of examination: (1) Preliminary examination (2) Main examination. Preliminary exam consists of one paper of 3 hour duration with objective type questions in physics, chemistry and maths. Main examination consist of three groups of papers made on the basis of eligibility requirements of all the courses. A candidate has to select one among the three groups for the exam. Each paper is of 21/2hours duration and carry 100 marks. Medium of exam is in English or Hindi.

Reservation Of Seats: UP SC-21%, ST-2%, OBC-27%, dependents of freedom fighters of UP-5%, children of armed forces personnel retired/killed/disabled in action-2%

Domicile Restrictions: Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from the institutions located in the state are eligible for admission.
Sons/daughters of persons who are domicile of UP but have passed the qualifying examination from institutes located outside the state of UP are eligible for admission to the courses offered at institutions other than the Regional Engineering Colleges.
Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from institutes located outside the state of Up are eligible for admission against a maximum of 15%(subject to a maximum of 3% seats from any one state) of the total seats available at GB pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar.

Gujarat

Admission to B.E/B.Tech Courses in Government / University / Private Engineering Colleges in Gujarat affiliated to the Universities of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, MS Baroda, North Gujarat, Sardar Patel, Saurashtra and South Gujarat is made by the State-Level Admission Committee (SLAC)

Eligibility : XII Science (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology from Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board of CBSE with 55% marks (40% for SC/ST). Candidates who have passed from CBSE without Biology are considered for admission Committee C/o L D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad 380015 by the notified date.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from Engineering Colleges/notified polytechnics. Completed application should reach the "Chairman, Admission Committee C/o L D College of Engineering, Ahmedabad 380015" by the notified date.

Selection: On the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Merit order list is prepared as per marks obtained in the theory papers of maths, physics, chemistry and biology. For admission to Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Vadodara (except Pharmacy Course) the merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in maths, physics and chemistry.

Medium of examination: English

Reservation of seats: SC-7%, ST-14%, SEBC-27%. Seats are also reserved to physically handicapped, children of ex-servicemen and Armed Forces personnel.

Domicile Restrictions: Apart from the candidates who have passed the qualifying exam from Gujarat state, the following individuals are also eligible: Children of central government employee who have been transferred to Gujarat State within 3 years, children of officers of United Nations, children of the officers of All-India service allotted to Gujarat state or who are in deputation outside state, children of officers/servants of Gujarat state who are posted outside, children of the officers of government of Gujarat who are working at the places where such facilities are not available, children of the persons whose native place is Gujarat (residing abroad).

Orrisa

Admission to engineering courses is based on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the Regional Engineering college, Rourkela, or a college as notified for admission.

Eligibility : A pass in the Inter (SC) exam of Orissa or an exam recognised as equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in one attempt B.Sc. degree holders with Physics, Chemistry, Maths OR candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination OR Diploma holders in Engineering are also eligible. Candidates to be admitted in REC's / Colleges outside stae have to fulfill the eligibility requirements of the institution concerned.

Admission Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the College office on payment of requisite amount. Last Date For submission of completed forms is usually in the last week of April.

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination held in the 2nd week of May at various centres in the State. All information regarding admission to the Entrance Exam can be had from the Chairman, Admission Sub-Committee at the address specified in the advertisement issued in this behalf in January / February.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: Test consists of objective type multiple choice questions in maths, physics, chemistry and english. Syllabus is same as that of Higher Secondary Exam. Medium of the exam is English.

Reservation of seats: SC-15%,ST-7.5%, Engg.Diploma holders-12.5%, children of green card holders-5%, PH-2 seats in each college, defence & paramilitary personnel-5%. Candidates from other states/UT's in UCEBurla-5%. Sponsored candidates: Andaman & Nicobar-2, Arunachal Pradesh-2, Himachal Pradesh-2, Manipur-1, Meghalaya-3

Domicile Restrictions: Candidates must have passed qualifying exam from an institution in Orissa and must be permanent residents of the State. Candidates whose parents are serving in the State of Orissa with State/Central government or in public undertaking.

West Bengal

A Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination for admission to degree programme in Engineering and Technology courses.

Eligibility : Candidates must ave passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination in the general or vocational stream of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Vernacular or any other fifth subject. Age limit is not over 21 years on August 1 of the year of admission (3 year relaxation for SC/ST candidates). There is no age limit for admission to Jadavpur University.

Admission Procedure : Application form and other information can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/ Board on cash payment of the requisite amount. The form can also be obtained by post from West Bengal Board of Examination, Slater Hall, BE College, Howrah - 711 103 by paying through a IPO of the requisite amount. Completed application form along with bank challan should reach the Board office by the notified date usually in the end of December. After the receipt of the application by the Board, on Admit Card is sent to each applicant, informing his / her examination for JEE.

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination . The exam is held at 52 centers in West Bengal and 1 centre in Delhi. Candidates who apply for B Arch course are required to appear in the eligibility test in Geometrical & Free Hand Drawing and Aptitude Test conducted by the Board. Candidates whose name appear in the merit list are also required to apply separately to the Central Selection Committee/Jadavpur University in the Prescribed application form after their notification.

Pattern & Medium of Examination: Test consists of physics (100 marks), chemistry (100 marks) and mathematics (200 marks) of 3 hour duration each. The questions are of 12th standard and in English language with Bengali translation.
