:: Assertion and Reasoning ::

In each of the following questions, a statement of Assertion (A) is given followed by a corresponding statement of Reason (R) just below it. Of the statement mark the correct answer.

(1) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A
(2) Both A and R are true and R is not the correct explanation of A
(3) A is true and R is false
(4) A is false and R is true

(A): In series, the power consumption is more in a high resistance (R), where as in parallel, the power consumption is more in a lesser resistance.

(R): In series, combination P α R, but in parallel P α 1/R
