About Us:

 The Regional Office of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Silchar Region is located at Silchar in Southern Assam. The Regional Office, Silchar manages 53 Kendriya Vidyalayas as on date located in Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Eastern Arunachal Pradesh, Upper Assam and Southern Assam. Out of these 13 are Project Sector KVs, 31 Civil Sector KVs and 09 Defence Sector KVs with a total of 29237students (Boys-16293 and Girls-12944) as on 25th March, 2011. The Regional Office is headed by the Assistant Commissioner who is assisted by Education Officers, Administrative Officer, Audit & Accounts Officer and a host of other officials.

The Regional Office was set up in the year 1984 in temporary site on a rented building. The Office took possession of its own newly completed RO building in the year 2008. The office is located at Captain N M Gupta Sarani, (Near Lion’s Eye Hospital), Silchar-788001, Distt. Cachar (Assam). There are only 07 Staff Quarters for the residence of its officials. The office is at a distance of 4 KMs from the Bus Stand, 01 KM from Silchar Railway Station (Only two passenger Train as on date from Silchar to Lumding) and 30 KMs from Silchar Air Port.
