About the Conference

There are significant changes observed in the method of curricular transaction and assessment practices followed in the country after the implementations of the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2005. Though prior to NCF 2005 many other commissions and curriculum framework have rightly pointed out the necessities of reforms in curricular transactions and assessment practices, it is only after NCF 2005, we are noticing a coordinated effort from various stake holders in implementing the much needed change. The NCF 2005 has observed that “In the medium term, we need to be able to increasingly shift towards school-based assessment, and devise ways in which to make such internal assessment more credible. Each school should evolve a flexible and implementable scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), primarily for diagnosis, remediation and  enhancing of learning. The scheme should take, into account the social environment and the facilities  available in the school”.
