Punjab School Education Board

About Punjab Board:

The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. In 1987, the Vidhan Sabha amended the Board’s Act to grant it autonomy. The scope of Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect/stage of school education.

The Board comprises of four main branches i.e. Academic Branch, Examination Branch, Publication Branch and Administration/Accounts Branch. These branches control various activities and functions of the Board.

The Board has been entrusted with responsibility of granting affiliation to the private schools in the state as per the prescribed rules and guidelines. The Board has affiliated approximately 2700 schools till date.
