POST RESULT CBSE ANNUAL COUNSELLING IIND PHASE FROM
23RD MAY TO 6TH JUNE 2011

The Second phase (post result) of CBSE counseling will begin from the 23rd May and will continue upto 6th June 2011. This is the 14th consecutive year that CBSE will be providing counseling services to students and parents to overcome post result stress and anxiety.

The CBSE counseling is an outreach programme which is carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of students’ population and geographical spread. Multiple modes of communication such as telephonic counseling, Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and CBSE website will be used to reach out to more and more examinees during this phase.

1. CBSE TELE COUNSELING CBSE

started this pioneering community work 14 years back in 1998 for the first time. The highlights of CBSE Tele-counseling are:

(i) It is offered by trained counselors and Principals from within CBSE affiliated schools located in and outside India.
(ii) It is a voluntary, free of cost service provided by the participants.

This year 36 Principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and few psychologist will participate in Tele-Counseling and
address psychological problems of the students. 32 of them are available in India while 4 are located in Dubai, Doha Qatar, Kuwait.

Centralized Toll Free Access in India

Students can dial a toll free number 1800 11 7002 from any part of the country which will give centralized access to CBSE helpline. While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counselors in case of exam related anxiety or stress.

Counseling for Specially Abled Children

For the third year CBSE has arranged to provide counseling to specially abled children to take care of the needs and anxiety of special children.

2. IVRS:

First to be introduced by any Board of Education in the country, CBSE has made a unique effort to provide tele-counseling through Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) mode. The service is available for the sixth consecutive year on BSNL on 1250102. For Reliance users the service will be available on 55500102.

3. CBSE WEBSITE:

Techniques to cope with result related anxiety is also provided at the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in by accessing icon Helpline.
