The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay is organizing Eureka! Junior, a Business Plan Competition

for students in classes 6th to 12th, promoting entrepreneurship at a young age. The vision of the program is to inculcate an entrepreneurial spirit among the school students. It encourages students’inquisitive minds to bring up innovative ideas and provides them with a platform to present their ideas.

In this program, students will be provided with skill development activities, workshops, bootcamp,and mentoring from business experts for developing their innovative ideas.

Imp Dates :

  • Registration Deadline: 25th September 2023
  • Timeline: 10th September 2023 - 4th February 2024
  • Fees: Free of cost
  • Eligibility: Classes 6th to 12th
  • Mode: Online and Offline (Only the bootcamp and finals will be offline)

WHAT IS E-CELL IIT BOMBAY?

E-Cell stands for The Entrepreneurship Cell of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. We are a completely student-run non-profit organisation. In 25 years, we have become Asia’s Largest student-run entrepreneurship promoting organisation.
Our main aim is to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship across the country and to help enthusiasts grow their idea. We conduct multiple competitions and initiatives that cater to every category of the entrepreneurship community

WHAT IS EUREKA! JUNIOR?

Eureka! Junior is a Business Plan Competition that encourages school students of Class 6th to 12th to bring out their creative ideas and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. It aims to inspire and nurture their entrepreneurial mindset by providing a platform for them to showcase their innovative ideas, problem-solving skills, and creativity. It encourages them to think critically, work in teams, and develop a practical understanding of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. 

HOW IT WORKS?

Eureka! Junior consists of 6 major phases, spanning a breadth of nearly 6 months. Students of Classes 6-12 can participate in this competition. We have built 2 tracks, for students of Classes 6-8 and Classes 9-12 

Phase 1 → Preliminary Workshops

Through a series of free online & offline workshops in schools across the country, we aim to provide students with knowledge of entrepreneurship. 

  • Duration of Workshop: 1 hour
  • Content: What is Entrepreneurial Mindset? Why is it important? What is Entrepreneurship? What is Idea Generation?
  • The Workshops will be conducted over the months of August and September.

Phase 2 → Registrations

Registrations will only be accepted in the online mode this year,through our website. The registrations will start from 24th july. The last date to register is 25th September.

  • Click on the “Register” button on the website and enter all the personal details required.
  • If you want to participate in a team, all the team members need to register individually. You will be given an option to form a team in the later part of the competition. The team can have a maximum of 3 members, all from the same track. 
  • After registering, the subsequent step is to engage in the mandatory quiz, which becomes visible upon logging in. The quiz will remain open for participation from 28th July to 25th September, and each participant can attempt it only once.
  • Your performance in the quiz will determine your advancement in the competition.
  • Selected participants will be mailed regarding their selection.

Phase 3 → Skill Development Programme

Mode of conduction : Online

  • This program will run for around 50 days starting from 15th September.
  • All the selected participants will be given a set of activities focused on building entrepreneurial skills and enhancing their personality.
  • These activities will be visible on the dashboard of Eureka! Junior.
  • One of the activity will be to fill the questionnaire regarding your innovative idea.
  • All the activities will be evaluative. Top performers of the program will qualify for the next round Special Prizes & Course Completion Certificate will be awarded to all the participants who complete the 50-day programme. 

Phase 4 → Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

  • Top performers will have the opportunity to attend an Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for a more advanced picture and better knowledge of entrepreneurship. 
  1. Mode of conduction: Offline
  2. Location: IIT Bombay Campus
  3. Duration: 4 days
  4. Date: 1st - 4th December

Phase 4 → Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

  • ● Students will get a chance to accelerate their learning through hands-on activities and various interactive sessions.
  • ● Bootcamp will focus on:
  1. Leadership & Communication skills
  2. Networking
  3. Mentoring & Relationship-building
  4. Idea Validation & Customer Discovery
  5. Market Research
  6. Continuous learning & growth
  7. Social Media & Personal Branding

Phase 5→Mentoring

After the bootcamp, students will be provided exclusive mentoring from startup founders and business experts.

  • Mode: Online
  • Duration: 45 days
  • Timeline: 1st Dec- 15th Jan
  • Online Mentoring sessions will be conducted twice a week for 6 weeks.
  • These sessions will focus on building the Pitch Deck and BMC.
  • After the completion of mentoring process, students are required to submit their Pitch Deck and BMC for the finals.

More detailed guidelines regarding the mentoring process will be shared at a later stage.

Phase 6→ Finals

Students will be invited to E-Summit, the flagship event of Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Bombay.
They are required to pitch their idea in front of a panel of judges. 
The Finals are tentatively scheduled in the month of February 2023.
More detailed guidelines would be shared for the finals at a later stage.
