IITB-Monash Research Academy Scholarship 2008 Attractive Ph.D. Scholarships at the IIIT-Monash Research Academy

The IITB-Monash Research Academy (The Academy) is an exciting partnership between the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and Monash University - two of the world’s leading educational and research institutions.

The Academy, which is soon to be formally constituted, has designed a jointly-badged PhD program in which students can undertake interdisciplinary research in several thematic areas.

 

The Academy is offering attractive PhD scholarships to suitable candidates. As a PhD student you will be based at the IIT in Mumbai, India and work with an elite team of academics and students covering one of the following main research areas:

  • Advanced computational engineering, simulation and manufacture

  • Infrastructure engineering

  • Clean energy

  • Water

  • Nanotechnotogy

  • Biotechnology and stem cell research

Several of the research projects in The Academy will be sponsored by major industries. Opportunities exist for candidates to work closely with industrial R&D labs and generous stipends will be available to support candidates.

 

Candidates will

  • receive generous scholarships

  • receive expert co-supervision from both IITB and Monash

  • have access to world-class facilities

  • gain international research experience.

Candidates will spend some part of their candidature at Monash University in Australia. During this period candidates will be supported by a fellowship to cover living and travel costs.

Candidates that have first class Masters Degree in Engineering or Science from a reputed university or a very high grade point average from the NT’s, NIIT’s or BITS, should take advantage of this unique opportunity to acquire an internationally recognised qualification and pursue a career in research.

Candidates who have been highly placed in GATE or GRE exams will also be considered.
