CBSE launched Centre of Continuous Professional Development and Centre of Excellence

With the objective of empowering teachers and heads of schools with the right tools to provide quality education to children, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched its Centre of Continuous Professional Development and Centre of Excellence at Kakinada in East Godavari district on Friday.
Harbouring a strong belief that teacher education is a continuous process and that professional development of a teacher is a lifelong process, the Board has decided to establish a National Centre of Continuous Professional Development and Centre of Excellence at Gurgaon (NCR) along with seven Centres of Excellence at various locations including Kakinada.
Speaking on the occasion, Union minister of Human Resource Development MM Pallam Raju, said that teachers have an ongoing commitment to maintain their professional expertise and recognise themselves as learners to enhance their knowledge, skills, learning and teaching approaches.
