General Instructions :
(i) All the eight questions are compulsory, which carry equal marks.
(ii) Answers to be written for question nos. 1 and 2 in about 200 words each and for question nos. 3, 4 and 5 in about 100 words each. Question nos. 6, 7 and 8 are objective type.

1. Write an essay on the main features of the Rajasthani or Pahari miniature paintings.

2. Evaluate the aesthetic grandeur of any the following miniature-paintings, based on its
(a) Name of artist / sub-school, (b) Medium & technique, (c) Subject matter and (d) Composition :
(a) Marriage Procession of Dara Shikoh (Mughal School)
(b) Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and Amir Khusro (Deccani School)

3. Which human life-values are expressed in any of the following paintings of the Bengal School ? Explain in short :
(a) Journey’s End
(b) Shiva and Sati

4. Write a critical note in short on the compositional-arrangement of any of the following contemporary (modern) Indian sculpture, based on the aesthetical parameters :
(a) Cries Un-heard
(b) Santhal Family

5. Identify any relevant painting, included in your course of study comprising of the following features and explain them in the painting accordingly.
(a) The tradition of simple and straight forward compositions in the Rajasthani miniature-paintings, in which main figures stand-out against a flat background in dark or bright colours.
(b) Depiction of the Krishna-Lila themes in abundance in the Pahari miniaturepaintings.

6. (a) Under whose Mughal Emperor’s period (patronage) were the following miniature paintings produced ?
(1) Kabir and Raidas
(2) Falcon on a Bird-Rest
(3) Krishna Lifting Mount Govardhana
(b) Mention the titles of any two miniature paintings of the Deccani school included in your course of study, which you like most. (except that mentioned in question no. 2)
