Commencement of CBSE Board Exams from March 1st of Class 10th and 12th
KANPUR: The exams of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of both classes X and XII will start from March 1. The students will have to reach their respective centers 15 minutes before the commencement of exam which will start from 10.30 am.
Class X exam will begin with Painting on March 1 and continue till March 19. The paper of Mathematics will be on March 3 and Hindi on March 5.
The class XII exam will start with a paper of English (Elective, Core and Functional) followed by History on March 4 and Physics the next day.
Counsellors and psychologists, meanwhile, advised the parents and guardians of Board students to stop pressuring their children too hard to achieve better grades in the exams, especially at this point of time. According to them, nearly 40% students fall sick just before or during exams due to over pressure. The number is even larger in those who are preparing for competitions as well, said a local psychologist.
"Students mostly complain of stomachache, headache and fever. Due to the lack of a nutritious diet, children are likely to contract chicken pox during exam time. Malingering (pretending to be sick) is another common thing noticed," said Dr LK Singh, head psychologist at the Divisional Psychological Centre.
