About Board:

Assam Board Of Secondary Education is the Statutory Body of Government Assam which was established in The Year 1962. This Board is responsible for conducting the High School leaving certificate examination (Class- Xth) for the students of Assam State.

Main Functions:

• To provide Legal affiliation to aspiring schools.
• To define courses structure and text books for High school  level.
• To conduct High school Examination.
• To provide equivalence to the examinations conducted by other Boards.

Objectives:

• Prescribe and Modern courses.
• Conduct of Examination spread over vast area involving remote rural areas.
• The attitudinal change and professional orientation of the staff to keep pace with new techniques and rising expectations.
• Maintenance of accuracy and reliability of evaluation.
• Grant recognition to state High School classes.
• To conduct research in evaluation and curriculum framing.
• To make necessary arrangements of the preparation and publication of Text books of high school.
