About Orissa Council:

Orissa Council of Higher Secondary Education is a statutory body of Government of Orissa. The Council was established at 1955 which conducts higher secondary examination at State of Orissa.

Exams Conducted by CHSE Orissa:

• Higher Secondary - Arts Examination: +2 (Class XII )
• Higher Secondary - Science Examination: +2 (Class XII )
• Higher Secondary - Commerce Examination: +2 (Class XII )

Main Functions:

The major functions of the Board are :

• To conduct Higher Secondary examination.
• To describe course structure of higher secondary examination
• To prepare courses of studies, text books, teaching materials etc.
• To publish and distribute/sell text books, syllabuses, lesson notes, work books and other related materials.
• To issue certificates of the examinations conducted by the Board and equivalence certificate to the examinations of other State Boards.
• To recognise the Higher secondary schools for the examinations of the Board.
• To make regulations for undertaking different functions of the Board.
• To take care of Secondary Education through Orientation Programmes, Refresher Courses and other academic programmes.
