In a bid to raise awareness about tiger conservation, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting an inter-school online competition. The interested schools can enrol free of cost with the board by April 29. They can send the filled forms to SAEVUS Wildlife India, 253, Powai Plaza, Opposite Pizza Hut, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai-400076.

The board has decided to conduct a three-tiered contest. In round 1, a wildlife creative-writing contest will be organised in which students will have to write an original story or poem in 500 words based on any one of the video clips. A total of 10 video clips on tigers will be uploaded for viewing on YouTube or the school's website.

In round 2, a tiger warrior camp will be organised. This camp is designed for the winners of "Earn Your Stripes" competition with an objective of understanding forests and animals, protection of forests, knowing the stakeholders, studying the dependents living in the forest and most importantly, tiger behaviour.

The camp will be conducted in Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan, which was once the hunting preserve of the maharajas of Jaipur. Winners of round 2 will be felicitated at a function in Mumbai.

Round 3 would be the grand finale. The main event will be a programme which would include various activities, such as photo exhibitions, music performances, drama competition and felicitation of all winners on July 29. It would be attended by luminaries in the field of nature conservation.
