NCERT, an apex organization for Educational Research, Teacher Training and Development of Curriculum and Instructional material in school education, invites applications for various academic positions for its constituent units all over India. These posts are transferable amongst the constituent units of the Council located in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong. The Council follows the UGC guidelines for recruitment of its faculty. However, NCERT’s own thrust and focus areas should be reflected in the background of potential candidates. Therefore, keeping in view the inter-disciplinary activities and in order to have the best candidates suited to the requirements in the subject areas, the candidates, apart from qualifications and experience prescribed by the UGC may also possess specialization in the subject areas as desirable.

Note: In pursuance of the UGC Regulations 2010 the posts earlier advertised through Advertisement Nos. 154, 155 and 156 and not yet filled are treated as cancelled. However, candidates who have already submitted the application alongwith the prescribed application fee, if applicable, may apply afresh and need not to send the prescribed application fee again but to give their reference.
Essential Qualifications and Pay scales:
- PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay: Rs.37400-67000 with AGP-10,000)
- ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay: Rs.37,400-67,000 with AGP Rs.9,000)
- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Existing Scale of pay: Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP-6000)
The applications without complete information, required documents and received after the due date will summarily be rejected and no correspondence on this will be entertained.
How to apply:
Application on plain paper duly typed along with attested photocopies of documents relating to qualifications including mark sheets, recent photograph, crossed DD of Rs.100/-non-refundable (not required for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities candidates and Council employees) favouring Secretary, NCERT payable at State Bank of India, NCERT, Branch, New Delhi-110016 with the following details be sent to the Section Officer, Recruitment-I Section, Room No. 13, 5th Floor, ZH Block, NCERT, New Delhi-110016 on the prescribed format on or before October 24, 2010.
