(News) CBSE encouraging Career in armed forces.

With an aim to channelise the zeal and patriotism of the young students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to encourage the students to opt for a career in the armed forces of the country. The teachers of CBSE Board affiliated schools would now emphasise on information on the career in armed forces and encourage the students of class IX and XII to consider it as a professional option.

In a circular sent to the principals of all CBSE affiliated schools, Sadhana Parashar, director of academic, research, training and innovation, CBSE has conveyed that the board has decided that all CBSE affiliated schools would now provide proper guidance to students of senior secondary classes about prospective career options.

"In addition to other possible career options, the schools must also inform the students about the challenging and satisfying careers in armed forces under the 'General Foundation Course'," says the letter to the principals.

Schools have also been asked to visit the official websites of the Indian Army (indianarmy.nic.in), Indian Air Force (careerairforce.nic.in) and the Indian Navy (nausena-bharti.nic.in) to search for motivational material.

The letter further states that teachers can also take help of a supplementary book titled 'The Indian Army-A Glorious Heritage', published by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for motivational-cum-informative write up for students of different age groups.
