CBSE wants to connect to students via email, sms

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to collect mobile number and/or email ID of all students studying from std X-XII. The new initiative will start with immediate effect and its purpose is to use information and communication technology (ICT) to keep in touch with students.

Board's controller of examinations KK Choudhury wrote to schools asking contact details of all students studying in std X, XI and XII be provided ?as a top priority'. The schools will collect the data from students and then upload it on the board's website. Choudhury wrote: Having mobile number, email details will not only facilitate the candidate to have timely and latest updates but also help the board in advance planning and estimation.
