10 Study Tips to Keep in Mind Before Board Exams
Following a healthy lifestyle, inculcating regular study habits and management of time are some of the strategies to prevent and manage examination stress. “Success begins with a fellow’s will It is all state of the mind.”
Establish a consistent time and place to study each day. Look for a place that has minimal distractions and allows you to fully concentrate. |
Begin studying immediately when you sit down with the intention of studying. Checking e-mails and IM gets you off track and makes it less likely that you are going to have a successful and productive study session. |
Plan exactly what you want to accomplish during the study session prior to the session. Make a list of these tasks and stick to it during the study session. |
Break large tasks down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This will help you to maintain focus and complete the task quicker and easier. |
Log what you have done during a study session so that you can look back and see just how much you accomplished. This will also help you to keep track of what has already been completed and what still needs to be done. |
Keep your study supplies and designated studying space neat and organized. This will let you find what you need with ease and will allow you to reduce wasted time created by searching for missing items. |
Try to limit daydreaming by allowing yourself adequate breaks. Your goal should be to stay as focused as possible during the study session. |
Get sleep! Getting enough sleep helps you to study better and remember more material. Limit caffeine a few hours before bed in order to assure that sleep is uninterrupted. |
Eat a healthy well balanced diet. This will help you to feel better, and will allow you to better absorb and retain the information you study. |
Exercise! Exercising will help you to increase your memory which makes it easier for you to retain important material. Exercising will also improve your overall confidence. |
