Section Officers (Commercial) Examination
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an examination for recruitment to the posts of Section Officers (Commercial) in the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Eligibility:
Age Limit: 18-25 years but relaxable in case of
Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, Departmental Candidates and few such other
reserved categories of persons as specified by the commission.
Educational Qualification: Must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a
recognised University with at least 50% marks.
Desirable Qualification: Master’s Degree in Commerce of recognised
University/CA/ICWA
Examination Pattern:
Proficiency Test | 200 Marks | 2 hours | This test is objective type and contains questions in Commerce only. |
Interview | 100 marks |
Note: Commission will have full discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks in the proficiency test. Only those candidates would be eligible to be called for interview who secure minimum cut-off marks as may be fixed by the commission, in its discretion. Commission will nominate recommended candidates in due course to the O/O C&AG and posting of selected candidates will be made by that office.
Syllabus :
The objective multiple choice type test shall comprise 200 questions covering all the subjects of commerce commonly taught in the Degree course of Indian Universities, namely, Accountancy, Business Economics, Taxation, Company Law, Auditing, Business communication, Mathematical Ability, International trade, Marketing and Advertising, Business Management, Business organisation, Banking, Insurance.
Application Form:
The application form must be submitted in the form published in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar. The application form may be typed out in double space or hand written neatly, but format should be the same as published. The applications should be submitted to the concerned Regional Director as listed in the notification.
How to prepare :
The candidates must undergo prolonged preparation to take the examination. The examination is aimed at judging the knowledge of the candidate specially in commerce. For the objective test, one needs to start practicing early and regularly. A good book on the basics of General Knowledge, supported by a good newspaper and competitive magazine can greatly assist a candidate to do well in the interview.
