(Notification) Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test - 2016



Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test (ILICAT) is conducted by the Indian Law Institute for admission into LLM programme. Last date of filling application form is June , 2016. Exam will be conducted on June, 2016.

Courses Details:

  • LL.M. - 1 year Course
  • LL.M. (Evening) - 2 year Course
  • PGD-Post Graduate Diploma in Specialized branches of Law (Evening Classes)

Eligibility Criteria:
 

Course Eligibility Criteria
LL.M (one year and two years programmes)
  • Candidate should have a bachelor degree in the relevant field i.e. LL.B with more than 50% marks from any university / Institution recognized under Bar Council of India
  • Candidate holding Law degree from foreign country with 50% marks can also apply
  • The candidates appearing for the qualifying exam can also apply
Post Graduate Diploma Programme
  • Candidate should have a bachelor degree from a recognized degree
  • Candidates having law degree will be given 5% weightage in all programmes
  • The candidates pursuing five year integrated law course from any recognized university and have completed 4th year are also eligible to apply
  • The candidates applying for PG.D programme in Labour Law must have atleast Law degree or MA in Social Sciences

Exam Pattern:

  • The exam will be divided into 3 parts. Paper will be of both subjective and objective type.
  • Duration of exam is 150 minutes.
  • It will contain 144 questions and will be of 160 marks.
  • The objective type questions will be of 1 mark for each correct answer and ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Subjective type questions will be given weightage of 5 marks.

Part I – It will have 40 objective type questions from English Comprehension, Grammar, General awareness and Current news.

Part II – It will contain 100 objective type questions of Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, IPC, Public International Law, Commercial Law, Law of Torts, Law of Limitation and Environmental Law.

Part III – It will have 4 descriptive type questions to test the legal writing skills of the candidates.

How To Apply:

  • The candidates have to fill separate application form for admission into LL.M – 1 year programme and LL.M – 2 years programme.
  • Application form can be downloaded from website- www.ili.ac.in . Application fee is INR 2500 which needs to be paid if candidates download the form from website.
  • It can also be obtained by person or in post from the address given below by paying INR 1100.
  • The form can be submitted either in person/ by registered post/ speed post or by courier before the due date on the following address- Office of the Registrar, Indian Law Institute, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi – 110001. Along with this, DD of INR 1500 needs to be issued in favor of ‘Indian Law Institute’ payable at New Delhi.
