International English Olympiad (IEO) 2011
The International English Olympiad (IEO) is a one-of-a-kind examination, and first in the history of English language testing in India. IEO is a joint venture of the Science Olympiad Foundation and The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. The examination has been developed by a group of testing professionals who constitute the All India English Language Testing Authority (AIELTA) at The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).

How to apply:
Registration of Students : The event is open to the students of classes 2 to 10 and registrations are received from the schools in the prescribed pro-forma. Registration sheet for the school / students and the information booklet are posted to the schools all over India and abroad.
Foundation will register your school and the students as per the SRF (School
Registration Form), SRS (Student Registration Sheets) and the registration fees
received and despatch question papers and guidelines for conducting the
examination. Principals / teachers may please note that any school can be
registered as a centre for IEO. No fee is required from the institution to
become a registered examination Centre.

CLASS 2
Paper Pattern:
The actual test paper consists of 30 questions.
Time allowed : 60 minutes.
There are 3 sections : 20 questions in section I, 5 questions in section II and
5 questions in Section III.
Section-I: Word and Structure Knowledge
Nouns, Articles, Pronouns, Simple tenses, Prepositions, etc.
Collocations, Spellings, Words related to animals, Clothes, Body parts, Basic emotions, Food, Animals, Animal sounds, etc.
Section-II: Reading
Search for and retrieve information from various text types like stories, short dialogues, etc.
Acquire broad understanding of and look for specific information in short texts like messages, invitations, etc.
Section-III: Spoken and Written Expression
Ability to understand situation-based variations in functions like thanking, greeting, asking for permission, introducing (oneself), etc.
CLASS 3
Paper Pattern:
The actual test paper consists of 30 questions.
Time Allowed : 60 minutes.
