Junior Hindi Translators Examination
The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Junior Hindi Translator Examination for the Recruitment of Hindi Translators in various government ministries and its offices. The advertisements for these recruitments appear in Employment News/Rojgar Samachar.
Eligibility :
Age: Not exceeding 30 years. Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Serviceman/PH and others as per Government order in force.
Educational Qualification
Master’s Degree in English/Hindi with Hindi/ English as a compulsory and
elective subject at Degree level.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)
Examination Pattern:

Note: Paper II of proficiency Test shall be evaluated of only those candidates who attain a minimum qualifying standard in paper-I as may be fixed at the discretion of the Commission.
There will be no Viva-Voce test.
Syllabus:
Paper I: Objective Type (2 Hours) - General Hindi and
General English
The questions will be designed to test the candidate's understanding of the
language and correct use of words, phrases and idioms, ability to write language
correctly, precisely and effectively.
Paper II: Conventional Type (2 Hours) - Translation: 4 passages, 2 each
from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
The paper will contain four passages-two passages from Hindi to English and two
passages for translation from English to Hindi, which will test the candidate's
translation skills and their ability to write the two languages correctly,
precisely and effectively.
Application Form :
The application form must be submitted in the form published in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar. The application form may be typed out in double space or hand written neately, but format should be the same as published. The applications should be submitted to the concerned Regional Director as listed in the notification.
