CBSE To Introduce Quality Assessment, Peer Review

To improve the quality of school education in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to introduce School Quality Assessment and Accreditation (SQAA) soon.

According to a circular issued by the board , schools affiliated to it will be assessed through standardised instruments and processes of internal (self evaluation) and external assessment ( peer review), which would enhance the quality of education.

The board will constitute a team of peer assessors to conduct the external assessment and is looking for qualified and experienced individuals to join the team.

The circular further said the team would constitute principals (working or retired) or educators with vast experience and insight into school education in India.

To streamline the process of selection of peer assessors, the board will conduct an online screening test which will consist of two sections.

Section A will consist of multiple choice questions based on the SQAA manual and section B would be based on various case studies.
