Which stream Should You select After Xth Class?

Three main streams available after Xth are Science, Commerce and Arts. There are also many polytechnic and ITI courses which are considered of professional value. Below given are the details:

Science Stream :
Science subjects offered - The compulsory subjects are English, a second language, physics and chemistry. You have the choice of taking up biology and a vocational subject or mathematics and a vocational subject or biology and mathematics without any vocational subject. Take up Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics if you want to pursue engineering after class XIIth. If medicine is your calling, do Physics-Chemistry-Biology. If you want to pursue any of the technology courses like Biotechnology, Nanotechnology or any BTech course, Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics-Biology should be your choice of subjects.

Commerce Stream :
Commerce subjects offered - You will study subjects like economics, organisation of commerce, book-keeping and accountancy, secretarial practice, mathematics and statistics etc. If you wish to pursue management in the future, you could opt for mathematics instead of secretarial practice.

Humanities Stream :
Arts subjects offered - The compulsory subjects in Arts are English and one second language, i.e. French, Sanskrit or Hindi. Optional subjects include Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Psychology, Economics, History, Literature, etc. While choosing optional subjects keep in mind your interest and the career implications too.

Polytechnic diplomas in engineering and ITI courses
In case you feel that you do not have an inclination to go on studying for next few years and you would rather do some job oriented diploma at this stage only, explore the diplomas offered by ITIs and polytechnics in your town. There are quite a few practice oriented diplomas available after Xth. Check out if there is something of your interest. Some of these diplomas are also considered at par with XIIth. Doing such a diploma will always come handy in case you change your mind later on and would like to pursue higher studies.
Interets is a major component in deciding your career. what are the subjects you like? and what do you enjoy doing? what can you see yourself doing on a daily basis? these are things that would decide your career.Do what you like doing. If you enjoy doing stuff outside in the garden do that, If you like doing stuff with your computer do that .Do whatever you enjoy the most. Your career will find you. Dont worry about it the main factors in deciding what to do with your life and future should be influenced by your capabilities, those things of which you are interested in and what you enjoy. You should think that this is a profession that you will be spending a great part of your life doing. Parents often have desires for their offspring but they will not be performing the career chioce. If you are lucky enough to get paid for doing something that you love to do you will happiest in your life.
