IIT official admits mistakes in papers; asks students not to panic
After two reports by the TOI on blunders in this year's IIT-JEE, the organising committee on Thursday finally admitted mistakes but asked students not to panic.
Mistakes would not affect evaluation, the organisers said. "There are certain minor mistakes in the papers here and there. But I can assure the candidates that these mistakes will not affect their performance. They will be taken care of during evaluation of papers," T S Natarajan, chairperson of IIT-JEE organising committee, said.
Natarajan said there were a few printing errors in the question papers. He admitted the papers carried a printing error as subject-heads of mathematics and physics were interchanged. The Hindi version of the papers also carried wrong instructions. As per the English version of the paper, there were certain questions carrying 48 marks. However, the Hindi versions presented the same questions with wrong instruction that they carried 18 marks. Besides, certain questions were not printed in the Hindi version. "All efforts will be taken to ensure that such printing mistakes do not occur in future," Natarajan said.

Study Notes And Practical Work in Fashion Studies For CBSE Class XII
Part A : Pattern Making
Introduction: Pattern Designing is an extensive subject which covers
principles of constructions and techniques in a wider sense rather than style
detail in narrow sense. It opens scope for infinite variety of styles both for
regular designs and fantasy patterns. Pattern construction can be divided in two
parts namely measuring correctly & knowledge of technique with which they are
applied. Learning pattern making by trial and error is like learning to play
music by ear.
This is a method where in body or dress form measurements are taken for
developing a pattern. Following a logical stepwise procedure, the measurements
are then converted into a pattern. In other words this system depends on
accurate measurements to complete the paper pattern. There are limitless
designs, which can be achieved for workable garments. Flat pattern making should
be done in conjunction with a dress form so that as the design evolves,
proportion and balance in the garment can be checked side by side. It is
important to transfer the pattern on to a muslin toile (pronounced as ‘twall’)
to test the fit, on a dress form or a human figure. Flat pattern cutting is now
widely used because of its accuracy of sizing and the speed with which
complicated designs are made

Study Notes And Practical Work in Fashion Studies For CBSE Class XI
Part A : ELEMENTS OF DESIGN
Introduction: Designers, in their quest for the best
functional and aesthetic solution to a problem, need to be aware of and explore
as many possibilities as they can. Clarity of the final conceptual idea and its
communication to others is of utmost importance. With ever advancing technology
in every field of life, intensive and extensive practical knowledge will help
achieve the best possible ergonomical designs. Design is all about systematic
planning and clarity in effective execution of a concept, after overcoming all
possible environmental and technical constraints. The following exercises will
help students visualise, and practically substantiate, fundamental design
concepts they learn theoretically in the textbook of Fashion Studies.
SUGGESTED GUIDELINES FOR INSTURCTORS:
1. The syllabus break-up should be followed as far as
possible.
2. Make full utility of OHP’S and slide projectors while teaching.
3. Do not dictate notes for theory to the students, give a Photostat copy of
notes to the students & discuss the same in class.
4. A date should be given to the students for submission. Deduct 10 marks of any
student who submits late 2 consecutive submissions.
5. Try & arrange at least two outings in a semester for outdoor sketching or
market surveys.
6. Guest lecturers should be arranged for any important or interesting topic.
7. Maintain a daily assignment register in which the teacher writes down the
subjects & topic covered in class.
8. Also maintain an assessment register in which the marks obtained by students
in various practicles are entered.
9. All sheets should be marked out of 50 or 100 marks &survey reports out of 20
marks.
10. Be particular about filling up the feedback report at the end of each week.
Please use 1 sheet per exercise & make entries date wise. Please give com plete
