प्राचीन काल में शनि को अमंगलकारी ग्रह समझ लिया था। सुनी-सुनाई बातों वेफ आधर पर लोगों में इस ग्रह वेफ बारे में भ्रांतियाँ पैफलती चली गई। यह ग्रह अत्यंत मंद गति से सूर्य वेफ चारों ओर करीब तीस वर्ष में एक चक्कर पूरा करता है। शनि का दिन हमारे दिन से छोटा होता है। शनि अत्यंत ठंडा ग्रह है। शनि वेफ वायुमंडल का तापमान शून्य से 150◦ सेंटीग्रेड नीचे रहता है। अतः यहाँ जीवन संभव नहीं है। वैज्ञानिक खोजों वेफ आधर पर शनि वेफ उपग्रहों की संख्या सत्राह हो गई है। शनि का सबसे बड़ा चंद्र टाइटन है। यह उपग्रह हमारे उपग्रह चंद्रमा से कापफी बड़ा है। टाइटन की अद्भुत चीज़ इसका वायुमंडल है। इसवेफ वायुमंडल में मीथेन गैस पर्याप्त मात्रा में है। इस पर मीथेन, पानी की तरह मानी जा सकती है। शनि को दूरबीन से देखा जाए तो इसवेफ चारों ओर वलय या घेरे दिखाई देते हैं। इन वलयों या कंकणों से इसकी सुंदरता काप़फी बढ़ जाती है। इन वलयों की खोज गैलीलियो ने की थी। नई खोजों वेफ आधर पर सौरमंडल वेफ कई ग्रहों वेफ वलयों की खोज हो चुकी है। शनि जितने सुंदर और स्पष्ट वलय किसी ग्रह वेफ नहीं हैं।

  • ability to understand experimental and measurement aspects of Science.

  • The questions in the test will not be based merely on recall of information given in the textbooks, and several of them may be unconventional.

  • ability to apply the above knowledge to analyze relevant daily life situations and draw appropriate inferences,

  • ability to solve problems requiring numerical data-interpretation, graphical interpretation, etc.

  • ability to reason mathematically.

  • The content level will be defined by the prescribed CBSE Class IX and Class X syllabus. The recommended textbooks for this content are NCERT Mathematics textbooks for classes IX and X.

  • The questions in the test will not be based merely on recall of information given in the textbooks, and several of them may be unconventional.

  • The maximum marks for the test will be 100 and the test will have a duration of two and half hours.

  • The question paper will be fully objective in nature; answers will be machine-gradable. The paper will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs), numerical questions and column matching

  • questions as illustrated by the sample questions given below. There will be negative marking for wrong answers to the multiple choice questions only.

  • The total number of questions is NOT indicated by the number of questions in the sample given here.

Important Information Regarding 2011 Examination

  • Every student must obtain 75% of attendance. There may be a relaxation of 15% in the case of illness or a student participating in national level sports’activities.

  • Separate question papers in Science and Mathematics of Secondary (class X) level will be provided for blind students. Separate question papers in Physics,
    Chemistry Biology and Maths of Senior level (class XII) will also be provided for blind students.

  • The Board has decided not to conduct separate paper in Practical Skills in the Science subject and the practical component in the subject of Foundation of
    Information Technology w.e.f. 2011 Examination onwards. These will be assessed in the theory paper in the external examination in the concerned subject.

  • From 2011 Examinations the Answer Books in all the subjects will be of the same type (Horizontal) as was used earlier.

  • The main answer books (without Graph) both for classes XII & X will contain 32 pages. Answer books (with Graph) both for classes XII & X will contain 48 pages as per previous years.

  • Those who are re- appearing as private candidates in Class X, the question paper will be bases on the SA-II syllabus.
