The Ninth All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) was held on 25th April, 2010. 1065100 candidates appeared, out of 1118148 candidates registered, for the examination at 1623 centres located in 86 cities. Approximately, 26816 seats for BE/B.Tech & 936 seats for B.Arch/B.Planning in various institutions, namely National Institutes of Technology, IIITs, Deemed Universities, Technical Institutions, Delhi Technological University, Delhi and other Govt. funded Institutions were offered through this examination A centralized online counselling had been organized for filling up the All India seats by the Central Counselling Board. The States/Institutes listed below used AIEEE-2010 ranks to fill seats through their own counselling:- West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab University, Chandigarh, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Delhi Technological University, Delhi and N.S.I.T, Delhi under Delhi University.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)

In continuation to the press release regarding the rescheduling of AIEEE 2011 examination, the following arrangements have been made by the CBSE:

1. The re-scheduled exam will now be conducted on 11th May 2011 instead of 8th May 2011 due to other professional examinations on the same date. The exam will be held from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM at 39 cities given below.

2. The exam will be conducted for those candidates only who could not appear on 1st May 2011. The candidature of all such candidates who appeared on 1st May 2011 and register for rescheduled examination will be summarily cancelled.

Organisation of CBSE Science Exhibition 2011

The purpose of Science exhibitions is to develop scientific attitude in the young generation of our country to make them realize the interdependence of science, technology and society and the responsibility of the scientists of tomorrow. These objectives may be achieved by presenting the exhibits as an exciting experience of creativity of children, innovations through improvisations of science kits, and various devices and models for providing solutions to many present and future socio-economic problems particularly those confronted in the rural areas, using available materials and local resources.

The exhibitions will help children and teachers to learn from each other experiences and motivate them to design and develop something new and novel. It will also provide a medium for popularizing science and increasing awareness among the public towards it. The objectives of organizing science exhibitions may briefly be put as follows:

  • Stimulating interest in science and technology and inculcating scientific spirit in younger generations;
  • Exploring and encouraging scientific and technological talent among children;
  • Inculcating in them a sense of pride in their talent;
  • Providing exploratory experiences, encouraging creative thinking and promoting creative thinking and promoting psychomotor and manipulative skills among children through self devised exhibits or models or simple apparatus;
  • Encourage problem solving approach and developing the appropriate technologies, especially for rural areas and integrating scientific ideas with daily life situations;
  • Popularizing science among masses and creating an awareness regarding the role of science and technology in socio‐economic and sustainable growth of the country;

Eligibility Minimum Qualifications for Classes I-V:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalen t) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*

Note: (i) Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Senior Secondary / B.A. I B.Sc. level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates. (ii) For this year only a candidate with BA/B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and B.Ed qualification shall also be eligible for test for classes I to V, provided he/she undergoes, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6-month special program in Elementary Education.

Minimum Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII:

  • B.A. /B.Sc and passed or appearing in final 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education* (or its equivalent)
    OR
  • B.A. /B.Sc. with at least50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 - year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)*
